The Rotary Club of Buckhead is one of Atlanta’s leading
civic and business organizations. Our members are business and professional
leaders from the Buckhead and Atlanta business, government, non-profit, and
Founded in 1951, Buckhead Rotary’s commitment to the
community and to “Service Above Self” manifests itself in many ways.
We are major contributing sponsors of the new Ronald
McDonald House at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, including both a
significant cash contribution and volunteer time.
We are major sponsors of the work of Project Open Hand in
Atlanta, which daily prepares and delivers over 5,000 meals to individuals in
the metro area. A sizeable number of our
members participate in meal preparation and delivery, in addition to the club’s
significant cash contribution.
Our innovative Companion Pets for Vets program helps
military veterans adopt dogs and cats through a partnership with the Atlanta
Humane Society. We’ve connected nearly
400 animals and veterans so far.
Working with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and The
Home Depot, we are building wheelchair ramps for those suffering from MS.
We have ongoing community youth sports programs and
We are actively involved in programs for early childhood
education and literacy, including being partners with the City of Atlanta’s
Summer Reading Program.
We have ongoing programs promoting AIDS Awareness in
schools; and, we are contributors to, and supporters of, the Eagle Scout
program of the Boy Scouts of America.
Through the Polio Plus program of Rotary International, we
have seen the almost complete eradication of polio around the world.
We are leaders, citizens, parents and committed individuals
who believe in giving back.
The work of Buckhead Rotary in the community and around the
world is funded in large part by the proceeds from our annual Foundation Ball.
